Purpose of the Position:

Corning Automotive Glass Solutions business is an industry leader of technical glass for automotive applications. We are looking for the best talents at our R&D center in Hefei, China.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Optical surface treatment process development, including anti-reflection (AR) and anti-glare (AG), both additive (coating) and subtractive (etching) processes

• Optical characterization/measurement/analysis

• New AR/AG product development

• Helping solve manufacturing issues in AR/AG processes, including process control, yield improvement, defect analysis/reduction, etc.

• Supporting customer problem-solving activities by working with commercial teams

• Expected travel <25%

Education & Experience

• Solid background in thin film coating and/or optical physics

• Extensive experience in process development, optical analysis and characterization/measurement

Required Skills

• Familiar with PVD coating equipment, spectrometer, ellipsometry and related equipment

• Hands-on in designing and performing experiments independently, data collection/analysis

• Good communication skills. Good at working with team of diverse background

Desired Skills

An advanced degree (PhD or MS) in materials engineering/sciences, optical physics, electrical engineering, or related disciplines, Optical coating experience is a big plus.
