Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Ensure team has proper tools and resources available to meet quality and efficiency requirements. Provide fair, firm and consistent leadership to team. Monitor ongoing operations and advise Operations Manager as needed.
• Maintain and improve product quality to meet customer and quality systems requirements
• Maintain and improve safe and clean work environment
• Maintain and improve performance of the team.
• Provide all necessary information to team members so that they can make correct decisions.
• Develop objectives/goals and define roles for team members.
• Provide individual attention and development to assigned employees by developing training plans including any applicable certification and re-certification, providing frequent performance feedback and building confidence, assessing and addressing their personal needs, and taking disciplinary action when/if needed
• Enforce factory rules and expectations including: safety and housekeeping, ISO/TS requirements, training, security, IPP, Quality System adherence, process control and discipline, productivity targets and teamwork
• Responsible for auditing training received to insure effectiveness and meet ISO/TS requirements.
• Optimize daily and weekly work schedules to minimize overtime and maximize output to support plant activities
• Develop teamwork and involvement within the work group by holding communications meetings to share information and to gain involvement and input on issues
• Manage activities to remain within established budgets

Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Engineering
• Minimum 2 years or equivalent experience in manufacturing environment
• Work experience in multi-national companies highly preferred.
