Senior Staff Test Engineer - System Automation Test

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for driving automation test strategy and test requirement for wireless or cellular systems.

• Leading effort on simplifying and improving test tools, test environment, framework infrastructure and reporting mechanism.

• Co-ordinating with automation team and test teams to identify and triage operational issues during automation implementations.

• Managing and maintaining automation scripts, test APIs and test code check-in process.

• Leading cross-functional test teams to identify and prioritize key areas of test automation for releases.

• Driving test automation team to develop and execute sanity and regression test suites for various systems and applications.

Experience/Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 12+ years’ experience.

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years’ experience is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Java, Python or Ruby

• Demonstrated experience in managing and configuring container technologies and orchestrators, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in automation testing on wireless system, network equipment and mobile application on Android/iOS.

• Knowledge in building test automation framework, test infrastructure and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or Concourse.

• Proven experience in leading test automation team to support software development and system test validation.
