Major responsibilities and tasks of the position.

  • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Tasks.
  • Manufacture of parts for molds with precision tolerances according to the mold drawings

(tolerances in ten thousandths).

  • Perform certification of manufactured parts by sizing them and record the results in Corning

procedures.

  • Analysis of improvements following the metrics of MBTF and MTTR in the molds.
  • Manufacture of spare parts for molds in cost reduction projects
  • Comply with the CMMS procedures for corrective and preventive maintenance on the

molds.

  • Keeping plastic injection molds in optimal condition, includes disassembly, inspection,

repair and cleaning in accordance with Corning standards and drawings.

  • Interpretation of mold engineering drawings to make new cavities or parts that the mold

needs.

  • Ensure that new mold design projects comply with the characteristics of CTQ’s.
  • Handling of conventional and numerical control machines to manufacture parts.
  • Management of programs (Solid Work, Cad, ProE) or equivalents to modify drawings or

reverse engineer parts of molds.

  • 支持,执行和/或coordinates any work activity that the immediate supervisor

requests due to the needs of the company.

  • Responsible for delivering daily report of task progress.
  • Comply with the necessary security measures to prevent accidents, occupational diseases

and environmental contingencies in the company.

  • Notification of the acts, unsafe conditions and environmental risks observed.
  • Maintain a safe work area, complying with the safety policies and standards established by

Corning CLS..

Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements.

A. Education.

  • 技术/把atory Career or related.
  • Mechanical Engineer or related

B. Work Experience.

  • 2-4 years of experience.

C. Additional Skills.

  • ISO 13485 and ISO 14000
  • Verifiable knowledge in GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerance).
  • FDA Requirements
  • Skills (Solid Works, AutoCAD, Pro E, Etc.)
  • Computer literate, excel & MS office
  • Mechanical skills (Assembly and disassembly equipment’s)
  • Handling of conventional machines and Numerical Control.
  • Geometry and workshop mathematics.
  • Mechanical skills (assembly and disassembly equipment).
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a series of positions of responsibility as a specialized

technician (Mold Maker)

  • Ability to read understand and update mold drawings.
  • TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) on the machines of numeric control a conventional.
