Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Field Application Engineer Tele-/Datacom France (m/f/d)

Responsibilities:

• As subject matter expert and technical point of contact, you support our customers and their installation partners throughout all project phases.
• With your comprehensive application and product expertise on In-Building Networks and Data Center, you support our sales and customer care teams in advising the appropriate product solutions to meet all customer requirements.
• To ensure the safe and professional implementation of our products in the field, you train installation partners in hands-on oriented classroom trainings and/or on actual construction sites.
• 如果技术公关oblems or quality concerns, you analyse and document the root cause and develop appropriate solutions independently or in cooperation with our internal departments.
• In new product development or product modification projects you work in close cooperation with our technical departments to represent the voice of customer.
• At trade shows and conferences, you present our product portfolio and explain the application, features and advantages of our products.

Requirements:

• You have successfully completed a degree in information and communication technology or a comparable qualification.
• Very good knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written.
• Very good knowledge of common MS Office applications.
• 3 years of professional experience in a technical customer support role, with a distinctly solution-oriented way of working.
• Practical experience in the telecommunications industry, ideally in the area of structured cabling for Local Area Networks and Data Center.
• Ideally you have practical experience in testing and troubleshooting of Fiber Optic and Copper based network infrastructure.
• Very good communication skills when dealing with internal and external contacts on various levels.
• High willingness to travel (approx. 25%) within France as well as occasional work in other countries in the EMEA region as required.
• Valid car driving license.
• Eligible to live and work in France.
