PURPOSE STATEMENT:

This position is responsible for heading operations related to all supply and demand planning, logistics, warehousing, order processing, order fulfilment and trade compliance for Corning businesses in the region that are spread across life sciences, automotive and telecom segments.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Deploy a robust sales, inventory and operations planning process in close co-ordination with businesses.
  • Enable the sales team to grow business by ensuring customer delight through timely supplies.
  • Drive high levels of customer orientation in the team.
  • Deploy process improvements and standardization to deliver a consistent, world class service experience for internal and external customers.
  • Provide strategic insights to businesses to bring in improved forecasting accuracy, inventory optimization and reduction in cost of doing business.
  • Put in place metrics to track key leading indicators and publish the status regularly to ensure visibility and drive actions.
  • Build a solid partnership with Corning’s global manufacturing sites to take account of lead times, optimize costs and ensure supply balance.
  • Lead strategic projects such as reduction in cost to serve, reduction in delivery time, delivery on time to request (OTTR), automation etc.
  • Define and get support for proposals related to technology tools required to support future state architecture.
  • Build a strong organization (structure & capability) to build bench strength for step change in results delivery & future leadership.
  • Lead bench marking of best practices as well as KPIs to build a multi-year path for supply chain KPIs and action plans to deliver.
  • Lead and advocate for a very collaborative culture.

Context/Environment:

The incumbent will need to exercise a nuanced approach to manage a complex mix of internal and external customers with various needs and expectations in a global matrix structure.

ii. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Engineering Degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain related subject (Supply Chain Management, Business economics, Operations, or related field).
  • Having minimum 15 years of relevant experience in supply chain functions of a manufacturing company producing B2B products.
  • Should have 4-7 years of integrated planning leadership experience.
  • Interacts and collaborates with team and partners, respectful and adaptable yet with strong point of view.
  • Ability to work well in a global and complex structure.
  • Dedicated leader, creating accountability across his/her team and partners, inspirational and bringing energy to interactions.
  • Experience in SAP. Experiences in demonstrating existing systems capabilities.
  • Experience leading an S&OP process across a complex commercial and supply network in an international environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate large amounts of information leading to sound conclusions for effective decision making.
  • Able to ‘zoom in and zoom out’, quickly shifting between the strategic and the tactical.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly summarizing complex detail into executive summaries for leadership.
