Scope

Sterilization Section Supervisor Manages the efficient flow of product to, and from the Durham sterilizer by considering all end-to-end aspects. Leads hourly and salary resources to achieve the collective goal of creating a competitive sterilization advantage for CLS. Supports strategic and division-level projects focused on establishing Sterilization as a standalone node in the value chain.

Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business Field
  • 5+ years in High-volume Manufacturing, preferable 2+ years in sterilization technology
  • 2-5 years’ experience in plant scheduling, logistics, or supply chain functions
  • 2-5 years working with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (SAP, PS, etc.) MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Motivated to take action and make quality decisions without continuous direction or guidance
  • Able to collaborate across functional boundaries in a matrix organization structure
  • Demonstrated leadership or teamwork in accomplishing common goals
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (data structures, transactions, and inventory management)
  • Knowledge of sterilization processes and their scheduling nuances

Description of Work:

  • Manage throughput of the Irradiator to optimize sterilization efficiency; balancing in-bound receipts with local production.
  • Owner for IMHAS (Irradiator Material Handling & Automation System) and DMS (Data Management System) Master Data.
  • Utilize business systems to develop, track, and report key process indicators for the entire end-to-end process (from sending facility through to receipt at distribution).
  • Ensure daily resource management/alignment and execution of duties for personnel – hourly and salaried.
  • Manage Direct reports to continuously develop, sustain employee engagement; build bench strength.
  • Drive lean initiatives throughout department to ensure maximizing storage and labor efficiencies.
  • Monitor and take actions to control departmental spending to deliver monthly financial performance.
  • Track/report key performance indicators.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Data Management System, PeopleSoft/Camstar, and IMHAS Data.
  • Coordinate the flow of product through the North American gamma sterilization network to achieve Service and Cost targets for the CLS division.
