The Employment process:

• For all Production and Maintenance positions at Corning Incorporated in the Corning Valley begins once you attach your resume and submit a completed application. The next step in the process will be an orientation at a local venue to be determined. The orientation will be followed by a series of tests and interviews conducted by Corning Incorporated employees. Upon successful completion of all of the above, the next step will be background checks and a medical exam, to include a physical assessment and a drug test.
• Qualified candidates are included in a pool forDevelopment Machine Builder Ipositions and will be called upon as openings occur in our businesses.
• Corning Incorporated interviews applicants for self-managed teams and we are looking for individuals that possess a strong work ethic and substantial interpersonal and team participation skills.
• Our new employees will go through a 90 day probationary period. Production and Maintenance employees are represented by USW Local 1000.
• No relocation assistance

Experience

• 4 years of applicable Machine Shop experience or military equivalent or Journeyman or Class “A” status or Minimum 2 year Machine Tool Technology degree or Certificate in relevant field with minimum 1 year experience Qualified candidates
• Perform a variety of work to support research and development projects

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Work with ideas and designs to fabricate and/or assemble prototype parts and equipment.
• Need to know how to set up and operate straight vertical milling machine, drill presses, surface grinders, straight lathe, CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Write and or edit existing machine programs to produce parts that meet design specification and satisfy company quality standards
• Must supply own transportation; plants are as far as 15 miles apart.

Education

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required
