The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts,

IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.

IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Network Services Analyst will work on highly complex networking issues andwill monitor network service operations.

TheNetwork Services Analyst will alsoactively assist or provide direction to ensure continued excellence in delivery of services and support.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Focus on continuous improvement and optimization of IT processes and delivery of service support.
• Participate in review of lifecycle management status for network hardware, software, and WAN circuits.
• Oversee compliance and enforce adherence to corporate, individual business unit and operating policies and procedures. This person will be identifying any service and process gaps.
• Support a collaborative relationships between network, IT organizations, Corporate staff, and our relevant technology service providers.
• Oversees active monitoring of network environment, hardware, circuit capacity and performance.
• Coordinating the reporting on the health of the environment, as well as operational support and security compliance.
• Track network tasks and efforts, and ensuring they are completed with quality and on time.
• Track the commissioning and decommissioning of network assets and ensuring Asset Inventory is current, complete and correct.
• Monitor and troubleshoot fault isolation and recovery of failed network components or services.
• Ensure completion of root cause analysis on incidents, as well as helping to drive identification of preventative actions meant to ensure problems don’t recur and delivering on the tasks within those actions.
• Review operations guides and runbooks for currency, completion, and compliance.
• Maintain alignment with network planning, capacity management, and deployment of support initiatives.

• Assist with continuous improvement, cost reduction and capital projects.
• Lead initiatives and efforts as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERINCE:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or training.
• Prior experience with service support monitoring, management, and processes.
• Prior experience supporting and troubleshooting network devices, functions, tools, processes in a corporate environment.
• Prior experience tracking tasks, work efforts, and initiatives to ensure they are successfully delivered.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Solid understanding of infrastructure (compute, network, storage, etc.) environments and how they work.
• Experience troubleshooting technical problems and services.
• Ability to think through problem management, visualize solutions and drive to resolution.
• Ability to create thorough documentation for design and planning.
• Ability to work with staff within and outside of the IT Department.
• Solid communications ability, with great interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Must be able to work in team environment and motivate others.
• Must be flexible and ready to absorb new skills and techniques.
• Must be willing to be available for occasional off-hours engagement and activity.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience working with switches, routing and wireless LAN.
• Experience using monitoring, alerting and forensic tools such as SolarWinds.
• Experience assessing network capacity and consumption.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

• Up to two times per year to accommodate team meetings within our North America offices

The salary range for this position is $$68,592.00 - $94,314.00.Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
