The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Service Owner of Global Compute platforms, the Active Directory Engineer is a technology leader that will function as Subject Matter Expert for compute technologies, with an emphasis on Active Directory and Virtualization technologies.

While being predominantly internally focused, this position will require strong communication to bridge between various Infrastructure and Application teams as well as an excellent ability to navigate within a background of relative ambiguity

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

TheActive Directory Engineerwill be responsible for the following:

• Install, configure, manage Active Directory and VMware Virtual Center, vRealize Operations, and vRealize Automation / VMware Aria
• Adhere to all standards, policies & guidelines for the Compute Platform in collaboration with service line owner and technology teams
• Develop, Configure, and support compute solutions that meet business needs and align with Corning technology standards
• Evaluate all documents according to system requirements and evaluate all design and perform tests on all development activities and administer all complex methodologies
• Support IT project start-ups though technical consultation, charter definition, benefit and analysis, requirements gathering and formal PMO approval
• Partner with all members of project teams as a technical lead in the planning, design, coordination and execution of comprehensive, realistic and effective work plans.
• In partnership with Corning architecture Teams:
  • Help gather requirements, define options and develop holistic integrated solutions to complex business challenges
  • Help promote a consistent vision and strategy throughout the organization
  • Build relationships that foster collaboration and partnerships to drive better strategies, priorities, and service to the customer
  • Assist and oversee quality change control according to Corning Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management and Disaster recovery Methodology
• The Multicloud Engineer will also provide support for the Multicloud environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
• Prior experience in system administration, with a focus on private cloud (VMware) and public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) platforms
• Prior experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting services and cloud infrastructure

• Prior experience with implementation and support of enterprise Active Directory (AD) environment, including synchronization between on-prem and Azure AD.
• Experience engineering, building, and supporting a global heterogeneous multi-data center computing environment.
• Proven ability to facilitate the gathering and translation of business requirements into quality infrastructure solutions, reflecting security, scalability, availability, performance, manageability constructs.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Have an in depth knowledge in VMWare technologies including:
  • ESXi
  • Virtual Center
  • vRealize Operations
  • vRealize Automation
  • NSX
  • HCX
• Previous experience with deploying hybrid or multi-cloud solutions with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Demonstrating a holistic understanding of IT infrastructure inclusive of server, storage, network, virtualization, database, DR/business recovery and continuity practices, etc.
• Demonstrated expertise driving operational improvement and excellence under an ITIL based service management model.

TRAVEL:Up to 10% for meetings and some data center onsite work which may include both domestic and international travel

The salary range for this position is $87,130.00 - $119,803.00.Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
