Position: Equipment Engineer

Location: Canton, NY

Scope of Position:

• Methods, equipment, layout, workflow, time standards, capacity utilization, process/equipment improvements, and process control systems.

• May involve application of knowledge and methods for understanding physical phenomena to achieve specified characteristics and criteria for products and processes.

• Organizational health and safety management systems, procedures, and programs.

• Application of scientific and technological principles encompassed in mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design used for the design, production, operation, and use of machinery of all types.

Focus of Role:

• Performs research, design, and development in such areas as mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.

• Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

• Develops and executes plans to accomplish objectives and solve problems.

• Analyzes project goals and designs/modifies production equipment to meet quality standards and production quantity goals.

• May encompass job duties in facilities and manufacturing subject areas.

• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.

• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to resolve appropriate action.

Required Education & Experience:

• BS Mechanical Engineering

• 5+ years of relevant experience

• Technical competence in mechanical engineering.

• Demonstrated effectiveness at strategy development, technical problem-solving, and decision-making. • Technical writing and ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

• Experience successfully developing and delivering technical projects to manufacturing.

• Developing and delivering step change innovations to manufacturing.

• Competency in using Solid Works.

• Project Management skills and experience. Desire to work in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to perform in team or matrix environment Hours:

• Typically 7 AM – 4 PM Monday – Friday.

Travel:

We anticipate some travel with this role, dependent on project assignments. Typical travel requirement less than 10% but can vary
