Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Senior Vulnerability Analyst

Scope of Position:

In this position, you will join a team performing analysis to identify and reduce the threat surface and vulnerabilities in the Corning compute environment. You will be expected to assist in driving these critical projects with the business lines and application owners reducing the threat landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under supervision and direction of the Threat and Vulnerability Operations Manager and IT Service Lines.
  • Participate in the vulnerability management lifecycle and assist with the assessment and reporting of vulnerabilities identified in the environment. Including developing guidance for the organization with potential areas of focus for business lines.
  • Assist the Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) team with threat intel research, emerging cyber threats, and implementation of new technologies
  • Assist researching Research vulnerabilities discovered from the vulnerability management lifecycle and penetration tests
  • Provide operational support and maintenance for Corning’s vulnerability scanner and software
  • Collaborate using information and knowledge sharing networks and professional relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Work with the application security team to identify and prioritize remediation of security flaws and vulnerabilities in source code


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or other related major or equivalent job experience
  • 5+ years of relevant IT experience
  • Candidate with relevant certification preferred
  • Familiarity with NIST framework

Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience remediating vulnerabilities in different operating systems and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Information Security principles and technologies, technical information, and security concepts.
