Scientific Support Specialist – Amsterdam (m/f/d)

Scope of position:

Promotes customer satisfaction and loyalty by responding to customer inquiries with accurate scientific information regarding product, applications, troubleshooting/usage, or product selection. Technical and scientific inquiries are addressed by telephone or e-mail and can be directly applicable to product use, documentation (e.g., technical datasheets, protocols), applications support, sales leads, or product performance issues/concerns. Customer inquiries are received from end-users, distributors, Corning colleagues. Scientific Support specialist finds the right solution for the customer´s scientific questions.

Giving product and scientific application training, on-site or online to end-users, distributors or to Corning employees is part of the scope of the job.In addition, Scientific Support Specialists might participate in product/exhibitions shows and collaborate with other departments/regions depending on necessity. Examples of these activities are: Sales for lead delivery, Marcom and Business Operations team for technical and literature review and editing, participation in Webinar/Seminar programs, business team participation, and global Scientific Support engagement.

The position may occasionally require travel to visit customer or other on-site activities to support the business (1 per quarter). The position is a hybrid position (50% office / 50% home-office).

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Promote Customer satisfaction on the Scientific Support performance.
  • Answer customer inquiries by phone & email: product and scientific application related, technical questions from customers, distribution partners and internal Corning colleagues.
  • Find the right scientific solution for the customer inquiry. Deliver leads to the Sales team.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to product or application.
  • Communicate daily with customers, account managers and distributors in a professional manner via email, phone, or chat.

  • Upon request by the Scientific Support Manager, deliver product training and support the Webinar/Seminar programs.
  • Maintain and update the knowledge databases systems implemented by the team regarding product and applications information.
  • Upon request by the Scientific Support Manager, participate in product/exhibition shows.
  • Upon guidance of the Department management team, collaborate on revision and editing of new technical application notes, technical papers, and Marketing literature.
  • Engage with the global Scientific Support team and related activities. Able to lead initiatives and activities w/in the Global Scientific and Application Support team, as required.

Qualifications:

  • 生命科学博士学位或同等学历
  • ≥ 2 years of laboratory research experience (Cell Culture Techniques).
  • Fluency in English and another European language (Preferable French and/or German)

Essential Skills:

  • Good communication skills oral and written.
  • Fast Learner
  • PC proficiency in the Windows environment, including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferable Qualifications & Skills:

  • A third European language is an added value.
  • Research experience in immuno-oncology and/or 3D cell culture.
