The Corning Ascent FBR system’s bioreactor features a specially treated and packed polymer mesh that enables uniform, low-shear fluid flow through the bioreactor bed, which enhances exposure of cells to nutrients and reagents and promotes evenly distributed cell growth. Providing up to 20X yield over current technologies which could result in cost reduction in manufacturing. The FBR consumable set is equipped with disposable sensors for key process parameters (pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature). All fluid-contacting components are irradiated and single-use, requiring no assembly or autoclaving. The preassembled tubing allows the user to set up the system and be operational in as little as 20 minutes.
The Ascent FBR PD system supports three bioreactor sizes: 1 m², 2.5 m², and 5 m², which will help you develop a stable and well-defined manufacturing process. Aseptic quick connects facilitate the sterile connection of the various consumables available for this Ascent FBR System. Lynx® connectors are available that allow for aseptic connect and disconnect of the Bioreactor enabling mid-process sampling of the substrate quickly and easily.
